DIGITAL AND WIRELESS
Regular image comparison over a prolonged time period is the most effective strategy for monitoring patients’ skin and eye conditions. Considering this, iXope supports the recording of digital images and performing billable procedures that usually require a referral to a specialist. iXope takes high-definition images which can be sent to the doctor’s software with a single click and be instantly available. Doctors are then able to share these images easily and securely with patients or specialists, enhancing collaboration between all medical professionals and the patient to reduce time and costs.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL
Removal of ear wax or foreign bodies from the eye requires bulky and expensive ear microscopes or slit lamps which are only found in specialist rooms or hospitals. Instead, the iXope is an affordable handheld device which supports these procedures and enables patients to receive immediate treatment in the trusted environment of their family doctor. Instead of waiting on a referral, patients can receive instant relief and experience less complications.
CONVENIENT
Doctors with glasses are often limited by current devices and regularly experience difficulties with common examinations. With iXope, doctors look on the device instead of through it, making it much easier for those with glasses to use. iXope allows a comfortable arms-length distance between the doctor and the patient, and the images can also be seen on the HD screen on iXope.
Affordable
iXope is in the same price range as the analogue otoscope, dermatoscope and ophthalmoscope combined. iXope also costs 1/3 of the combined price of current ear microscopes and slit lamps. Additionally, since iXope is digital, it supports procedures which are subsidised under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).

OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY
The medical device sector is undergoing a massive transition from analogue to digital devices and services. Currently, there is a high demand from doctors for digital medical devices, yet the market is significantly underserved. Traditional eye, ear and skin examination devices – such as the otoscope, opthalmoscope and dermatoscope - simply do not meet the needs of today’s general practitioners or patients.
These traditional devices not only limit the number of procedures doctors can undertake but are also not digital-friendly, meaning the doctor must document the information from the examination manually. As you can imagine, this is a time-consuming and outdated process.
REFERRALS REQUIRED
Even though doctors would like to do more procedures, current devices are limiting general practitioners and patients need to go to hospitals and specialists instead.
